Hello.
I'm installing Oracle8i on Red Hat Linux Server 7.0. The Oracle documentation has some preinstallation request to be carried before installing the Oracle software. It asks to modify some SEMAPHORE & SHARED MEMORY values in to a specified file. And finally after updating this values it asks to REBUILD THE KERNEL & then to reboot the system. But the documentation does'nt says how to rebuild the kernal. Well, the question is I'm not able to REBUILD THE KERNEL. So, please help me out in knowing how to REBUILD THE KERNEL. Thanks Vishwa. |

Hi All,
Thanks a Lot for ur favour/efforts. I got it done. But any way have some problems, out side of installation. I'm working around that. Any way I was successfully able to install software offcourse by modifying the Kernel. Thanks for all ur suggesations. Finally Thanks a Lot. I could Achieve this by simply running the make, in the /usr/src/linux folder & subsequently running related commands... Again Heartfull Thanks Vishwa (India, Bangalore). |
