Sample scripts

Hi All'
I'm a newbe, and just is started to learn unix.

Where can I find a complete sample scripts? I looking for a sample scripts which log in at another unix host and and execute another script server side.

Any input welcome

Well, this forum is a good source. There's also [shell-fu:home]$ which has a nice RSS feed.

I like the page, definitely, but some scripts.... why?
  • fortune -- why not use the fortune program?
  • mtop -- colorful version of "watch"??

Watch is not on Solaris and mtop can use config files as an argument. So one can have sets for watching during different tasks.

Fortune - because I can update it myself without any issues and it is cross platform.
