SunOS - root's .profile
There is no .profile file for the root user. It should reside in "/". Can I just copy a .profile file into "/"?

Yes, you can - set the ownership and file persmissions so 'regular' users can not change it.

before you begin....
small tip...
create a /root and make it to your homedirectory (/etc/passwd). so you won't have all your multimedia-profiles (from CDE/GNOME, Netscape,....) directly in the / create the .profile like you want but change the permissions (!) otherwise i will do this vi .profile rm -rip /* greetings Preßy |
