installing Unix
Hi all,
I just joined this forum and I have tons and tons of questions! Lets start with first one, how to install unix (on laptop)? I bought this book (Unix System Administrator's Bible) and got a CD (Full distribution copy of FreeBSD 2.2.5); and it is all compressed (I got that portion), the laptop doesnt have any OS on it, so using PC I made the bootable flopy. I start my laptop with the floppy, it starts off correctly; but.... it hangs up once it starts accessing floppy! Regarding the compressed files on CD, do I have to uncompress them in a different CD/Floppy before I start with the bootable floppy? HELP!!!!!! |
