[not set]# which zip
no zip in .....etc etc

[not set]# type zip
zip not found.

But I know zip is there because we use it ! Now we want to use PKZIP..just cant figure out how/where to find it

I am guessing we use ksh coz all our sheel scripts are labelled .ksh

Like you said, I dont get anything when I type
man zip

I mentioned my problem to one of my colleagues and he gave me the location of the zip utility. (Coincidence!)

Like binny suggested, I tried
locate zip
it just complains - sh: locate: not found

If it's not in your path you can always use find:

find / -name zip
