Cron & Daylight Savings
I have a Solaris Server which has the Timezone set as TZ=GB-Eire
Now there are cron jobs running which follow the TZ =US/Eastern Timezone . On account of the US DSt changes when would this cron job run?? eg: A cron job is scheduled to run at 12:00pm EDT on a server having TZ as GMT time . This normally means it runs at 17:00 GMT (5 hour difference). When the DST change takes place for the US, will this cron job job run at 16:00 UK time (4 hour difference & 1 hour ealier) or at 17:00 hrs GMT(same 5 hour differrence) for the first time. How does Unix handle relative timezones especially when there is a time adjustment involved eg: Daylight Savings.?? Which file does it refer to |
