crontab -e dosent work

Hello!

my crontab -e dosent work. Im getting this error message:

sh: VI: not found
The crontab files was not changed.

How do i make it work? I think you should use "export editor=vi"
or something. But i cant seem to get the correct line!

pleas help...

try set -o vi

To see what options you have set, type in set -o

make sure you have your environment variable EDITOR=vi and export it.

vi is lowercase. not upper.

If you want to set the editor to something else, such as pico, I believe the correct syntax is "export VISUAL=pico" or "export EDITOR=pico". Of course, you'll want to use vi instead of pico.

Hmmm.... this is strange. It works with "export EDITOR=vi" when im oracle, but not when im root. And i really need this to work when im root...
