Does the latest version of StarOffice and OpenOffice have support for TrueType fonts?
The 5.2 version of StarOffice had TTF support in StarCalc, the spreadsheet application but the word processor package did not have native support (getting it to support TTF is a pain in the buttocks).

The best distribution i have used (and yes i've used nearly all of the major ones) is Mandrake 8.2. Its easy for the newbie, and is perfect for the developer, and for server use as well. Get it from www.linuxiso.org
www.openoffice.org is by far the best office program for linux. Its as good or better than microsoft word in my opinion. There is also a windows version. Download it from www.openoffice.org Staroffice is now no longer free. openoffice is as good anyway. hope that helps. |Daniel Santamaria| |
