How to configure mailx
Hi,
I would like to use mailx to send notification out of my solaris box (5.8) i use this command echo "testing123" | mailx -s "Test" cghcgh@aaa.com I could never receive the email. From the logs in /var/adm/messages, i can see the below msg. Jan 12 17:17:19 sins231072 sendmail[8688]: [ID 801593 mail.info] n095Rwo09593: to=ryan.graham@rabobank.com, delay=3+00:49:21, xdelay=00:00:00, mailer=esmtp, pri=26400067, relay=aaa.com., dsn=4.0.0, stat=Deferred: Connection refused by aaa.com. I have got the exchange person to permission this server to use smtp. Another thing is that my domain is ap.aaa.com . Why am i being refused by aaa.com? Can i verify whether this mailx command uses the /etc/mail/mailx.rc or /etc/mail/sendmail.cf fille or both? Let me know if you need any information. Appreciate any help! |

hi ynilesh,
i did a telnet before....and i'm able to connect to the smptrelay server newserver:8:telnet smtprelay.ap.aaa.com 25 Trying 172.12.150.13... Connected to mailhost. Escape character is '^]'. 220 Generic SMTP Server What other information do u know? |
