why will a unix box become slow... ???
Hi !
Can somebody tell me why -or- when will a unix box will become slow in processing .... where to go and chk the stats... for this ??? Pls help.. Thanks in advance... |

check the CPU usage..
use top,topas,vmstat depending on your unix.. |

Performance is often IO related. As the poster above me suggests tools like iostat, vmstat, top, ps etc can help you with this.
If you are lucky sar is configured and running, that might also give you the information you need. |
