How to check which software is installed on UNIX

I want to check which software is installed on my UNIX machine, what is the version of the software and the license information of that software.
If someone has any idea, pls reply.

You can know this informations by the command uname using some options like -e or -i or -s etc..

hehe, I suggest you that see /usr/local/bin for user installed app.

I dont want to check the version info of UNIX, I want to check the information about the software installed on UNIX machine.

Assuming that you want the CLI versions .....

For Solaris you can use pkginfo. man pkginfo(1M) for further information
For HP-UX you can use swlist. Again read the man page for further information
For AIX, you can use lslpp. Again read the man page for further information
