Question Thunderbird Error

Hi experts,

i am having 4652 mails in INBOX & 5000 in Other filders.
I am using IMAP server account. from last four days
when i start Thunderbird it takes lot of time to load all mail or some time getting error like " Connection to server timed out "

how to solve this error.

Thunderbird has option to fetch only mail headers, you can use it to avoid downloading 5000 messages. Nevertheless, Thunderbird has no issues dealing with 10000 messages per folder, you just need to have powerful machine to handle the IMAP.

thunderbird.

Try setting simultanious/cached connections to 1 in the Account setting -> server settings for the account.

Some mailservers with a lot of users don't have enough "slots" for everyone.

Hope this helps, but as long as its not your internettconnection that gives you the error this is a thunderbird-error its best to ask the thunderbird-ppl.
