Password settings

Good afternoon/afternoon/evening,

I have a solaris 8 machine that if I lock the machine and return I can just press enter and it will log back in, this happens with all users on just this machine. Is there a config file or command to put the password in place?

regards

will

Are you talking about a locking screensaver type thing or are you saying that anyone can walk up to the box and log in as anyone?

I was talking about the screensaver type,

I rebooted it and it hasnt done it anymore, I was told it is something to do with the talk tool?
which sometimes crashes and then cannot operate correctly?

Talking

If you rebooted it and it went away, then you have two options:

1) Go crazy trying to make the problem re-appear. This will use tons of your time and make the machine unusable for other work. This will make your boss unhappy.
2) Claim you fixed it, brag about it to your boss, make your boss happy.
