get number of the line

hi all...

i have a flat file with several record, and i have to check it (all the file) searching the next substring : "||" in each record.

using grep -n '||' file_name > output_file , i can know if the file has "||", and i print the result in an output file, something like this:

1041:JOHN|VERGARA|A|X||05|M|061952
1050:EMA|CALQUIN|A|X||06|M|061959

but i would like get only the line (record) number:

1041 - 1050 - .....

how can i do that....
any idea thanks....
