Unhappy Opensuse mt command

do not have lock and unlock function,
is any way to lock the tape drive
under opensuse 10?

what version of mt are you running? what does ldd for mt tell you?

see if you can find an rpm for a later version or one with the features you need
a better way might be to find it from one of the suse repositories
