cdrom test fail
Hi
I have a problem in installing solaris 9 in a ULTRA Enterprise 2 machine. The cdrom does not keep the cd in. When I put the installtion cd 1 and close the tray, I can see the led blinks three times and then the tray comes out. I borrowed a set of installtion cd s from one of my friends (they worked in her solaris 10 machine) to confirm that this is not a media problem, but the result was the same. additional tests done are given below ----------------------------------- When I run eject cdrom the cd tray comes out. when I run test scsi , it does not give any error messages. When I run test cdrom, it says cdrom selftest failed. return code =-1 when I reun probe-scsi-all, I get some results but can't see everything properly because the screen get updated very fast so that only last past can be visible please help me to solve this problem peter |
