could not ssh and ping

hi ,

i cannot ssh to a server , i have restarted the ssh instances also.

and i cannot ping to the server..

any ideas ..plz

is the server on the same network (subnet as well)?

from where are you trying to ping/ssh to this box ???

we need some more details of your current setup to help you out. problems could be network issues, firewall policies... so on and so forth. we need to narrow our scope.

Hi ,

I am trying from admin server. I tried to ping it is not alive ..

But when i entered in single user mode it is going inside.

All the ssh processes are running in the destination server

any ideas

if there is any clarifications needed , i will again mail u

Are you accessing the above through LOM/ ALOM to go into the single user mode?

As per my understanding….
If you are not able to ping the system from other system it means the system is not in network. If its not in network then of course you can not ssh the system.

What is your default route? can you see it under netstat output ?
are you able to ping the gateway from within the box?
