console question

Hi,

I have rebooted the server and didn't come up, but I have logged into the box using console with root password. How do I know what run level ? I checked using who -r , it shows as run level 3. Isn't it run level 1 ?

but only for solaris 10!

@OP

runlevel 3 is correct for multiuser mode. read "man init" for a complete description for the runlevels.

the server and didn't come up
I guess you mean the GUI didn't come up. You can still be in runlevel 3 w/o the GUI. If you are expecting the GUI to start up, you might want to look for errors in /var/adm/messsages.
