Solaris 9 Patch Issues

I have never had problems getting patch clusters from sunsolve and running them before. I've extracted the 9_Recommended.zip file ran ./install_cluster all the normal stuff i do to patch etc......But this time all my patches are returning codes 5,8,17 the 5's and 8's don't really matter but my server is pegged at 100% cpu and 90% of the patches are returning code 17. Has anyone had this issue before?

Code:
Uname info:
SunOS xxx.xxx.xxx 5.9 Generic_122300-09 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V240 Solaris

Errors:
Installation of 116340-07 failed. Return code 17.
(Mismatch of the -d option between a previous patch install and the current one.)

Cluster:
9_Recommended_.zip (April 24 2008)

Oops! Looks like someone prevously installed a patch with '-d' option that this patch cluster is trying to modify/remove!!

Once a patch is installed with '-d' option there is no rollback... talk to sun support and see what they suggest - I hope not a fresh jumpstart
