sun licensing
Hi Guys,
Can someone please give me an introduction with Sun licensing? Is the licensing per user or per cpu or both? How do you push it on the server? Or is it included in the hardware price. Thanks in advance, itik |

I never really involve in purchase of licenses.
depends what you are asking. If you talking abt buying license for software product running on solaris server there are few ways they do it. Most products that you purchase require a license and that license is generated based on server unique hostid. Some generate based on IP address. I heard oracle charges the license by the number of cpu on your box. Normally the product sales rep will be familiar with licensing and they can advise you accordingly. |
