The simplest way to go about this is to take a ufsdump of all the OS filesystems (in case you have /, /usr, /var, etc separate) on a tape. To restore, do a ufsrestore to a harddisk and then do an installboot to put in the boot blocks.

Hi blowtorch,

Tks for the reply. The thing is all of my Sun Server do not have the scsi card for tape device. What is the alternative besides backup the OS to tape.

Thank You

All Sun machines can do a network boot, this would allow you to either do network installs or jump start the machines.
