solaris10 dns problem
Hi,
I'm new to solaris and just installed solaris 10. For some reason I can't resolve stuff. I installed it with the option to use dns. My routing is correct. (I can ping stuff outside my subnet). I have a resolv.conf which looks like this: bash-3.00# more resolv.conf 10.32.2.12 10.32.2.11 bash-3.00# ping 10.32.2.12 10.32.2.12 is alive This is my nsswitch.conf file (the relevant part): # You must also set up the /etc/resolv.conf file for DNS name # server lookup. See resolv.conf(4). hosts: files dns # Note that IPv4 addresses are searched for in all of the ipnodes databases # before searching the hosts databases. ipnodes: files dns and the dns client service runs: bash-3.00# svcs | grep dns online 11:40:56 svc:/network/dns/client:default However , when I do a nslookup I get nothing: bash-3.00# nslookup www.google.com ;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached and when I snoop the connection on port 53, I see nothing going out or in... Any idea's? Help would be greatly appreciated. thnks |
