How to Install Solaris 10

I have a sparc 5 system and i want know how to install solaris 10. i downloaded the cd from the sun website and when i put it into my system and type boot cdrom it says:

ok boot cdrom
Boot Device: /pci@1f,0/pci@1,1/ide@3/cdrom@2,0:f File and args: netbsd
boot: cannot open netbsd
Enter filename [netbsd]:

I dont know what to type here. Or even if i am supposed to be doing this.

doesnt look like a solaris 10 disk.....

You can get solaris 10 for intel on the sun website.

And for my problem , I even tried with the solaris 2.5.1 version that i bought from the sun store.. IUt still gives me the same message.

is it possible that you made cd copies of netbsd images? try removing the cd that's in the cd drive and replace it with any linux cd just to check if you're still getting the same error ... if no, your "sun" cd needs to be redone ... if yes, something else is wrong --- possibly with the cd cdrive ...

I fixed my problem

I just used the command:

boot cdrom - install

it works now!!!

Too happy too soon

ok now once i install solaris 2.5.1, the system reboots, and now i have the same problem.


how do i boot into solaris, is there any command?
