Red face Solaris

Hi Friends,
I tried to set up NFS and NIS on solaris system .And when i tried to reboot the client system ( client for NIS) its not able to boot.
The file system got corrupted .it is unable to mount the file system.
But the ok prompt is being displayed.
but i am not able to run any command.from the root login also.
Do i have to reinstall Solaris or is there any rescue method for this ?
Can i upgrade Solaris without formating so that i dont loose the Oracle data thats there on it ?
Thanks in advance
Veera

Try booting into single user

ok boot -s

Use fsck to repair file systems. If you can't boot single user on the boot drive, then you can try booting single user from Solaris CD.

ok boot cdrom -s

Again, fsck to repair file systems.
