Problems with migration from Reliant Unix to Solaris
Hello folks, my company had decided to migrate from Reliant Unix to Solaris. We have an amount of sourcesthat have to be changed a little, because these UNIX'es are slightly different. Is there a tool (hopefully free), which can do this job? Does anyone know the exactly differences, I think CURSES will be one importent. Thank's in advance for some hints , Ruediger. |

hi,
cannot believe that any program will do that changes for you... there is an offer from sun to migrate any unix derivat to solaris for you, but that costs a "little" bit ;-) it will belong to your scripts whether it is possible to change it, if it is only a "normal" shell script or perl script it could be easy but if you are using OS specific feature you have to find an alternativ command.... http://bhami.com/rosetta.html look at that sun news, could be interessting for you http://www.sun.com/2004-0803/feature/ happy to see a new SUN member ;-) gP |
