OK, I am still stumped. 2 V210s with the same problem. Removing the hard drives and attempting to boot to the DVDROM with the Solaris 10 DVD in there and not in there results in:

I also tried swapping DVDROMs and resetting the NVRAM.

If you were on the ttya serial port for the console you can send a ~~# to emulate a <STOP>+<A> to take the machine down to the ok> prompt, perhaps the same would work via the ALOM console?

At the ok> prompt, set auto-boot option to false.
do a reset-all and try again. V210s zzzzzzzz.... I onced hit problem with a DVD and was able to use it after a firmware upgrade. By the, were you able to probe?

I have experienced Sun V880s which would not boot from a DVD-RW disc, had to use a DVD-R(or DVD+R but not DVD+RW if you see what I mean!), presumably if a frimware upgrade were available for the DVD-ROM drive that might be fixed..
