1 or 2 Fiber cables?

Hi Community,

I'm working on Solaris 10 installation with 1 Server V490 and 1 StoredgeTek 3510 (Standalone configuration).

I'd connect the Server to the Storedge with a fiber cable but I' m in doubt becouse I don't know if using 1 or 2 fiber cable.

Could you provide me any solution?

Could you explain me the reason?

Thank you very much!

I guess you mean a multipathed configuration with "2 cables" ? You got 2 controllers and if one fail you have a working server. With one cable your server will fail.

If you using 2 cables and enable multipating software - stms (mpxio), then
in cases one of cables or one of controllers, or one of ports on disk array is broken - your server will work.
