Assuming you have created your RAID 5 like this:
metainit d6 -r /dev/dsk/c1t0d0s6 /dev/dsk/c2t0d0s6 /dev/dsk/c3t0d0s6 -i 8k
Can't you grow it simply by doing this:?
growfs -M /mountpoint /dev/md/rdsk/d6
