SL24 tape library connection.
hi all
please tell me how can i connect SunFire V240 to a SL24 tape library. is there any slots which i can connect? can i connect through SCSI port? |

The question is not how to do it, but rather : is it serving your purpose in a satisfactory manner? If you use iSCSI instead of a fibre channel connection, will the throughput be enough for fast backups?
To answer directly, yes, you can use the Ultra 320 LVD SCSI port on the library to connect it to your server. You can even mix protocols (FC/SCSI/SAS), since the SL24 is a direct attach device. But always look at what either of these options offer in regards to your general purpose (speed, reliability, ease of use and administration, future upgrades, etc.) |
