Are you using it with a local mouse/keyboard/display or are you connecting remotely with another workstation or pc with exceed or something similar?

Is this on a SUN server or a p.c. (Solaris versus Solaris x86)?

If you are on a SUN server, then what type of server did you install?
Quote:
To find out which Main cluster is installed, do:

cat /var/sadm/system/admin/CLUSTER

It will return:

CLUSTER=SUNWCxxxx

Where SUNWCxxxx equals:
SUNWCXall = Entire Distribution plus OEM Support
SUNWCall = Entire Distribution
SUNWCprog = Developer Support System
SUNWCuser = End User Support System
SUNWCreq = Core Support System
SUNWCrnet is the "Reduced Networking" metacluster that is added in S10.
Normally it should start CDE (Common Desktop Environment) on boot - do you get a signin screen after boot or a login prompt? To change from CDE to Xwindows from the signin screen, there should be a drop down menu there (although I thought Xwindows was support was suppose to be dropped at some point - maybe that was OpenWindows - not sure).
I'm not sure about x86 since I haven't played with it in some time.
