Upgrade nonbootable install to U09
I have a system that will not boot. It started this after applying Sun patches in preparation for an Oracle DB upgrade.
How do I do an in place upgrade to U09 without losing data? |
If your file systems are UFS you can install U9. Just keep the same disk layout and do not install onto the old /export/home or other non OS file systems.

I'm going to try booting to single user and running the latest patch cluster against the corrupted install. Thoughts?
This is a ZFS install, FYI. |
It probably will not fix your problem. I would suggest that you back out the patches that you applied and try and get your system running before you do anything else.

I can't boot to single user and mount my partitions now. Getting an error about 32 bit kernel.
Considering restoring using dd; the image I took of the disk after it crashed. I am open to suggestions. |
