There are 2 zones in Solaris 10. Sparc based zone and whole root zone.
You may need 100 MB space in case of sparc based zone and 3 gb space in whole root zone.

you may refer this link also for more information about zones.

Solaris Zones

Zones in Solaris 10 is an OS based virtulization tool. It's like LPAR in AIX and VmWare.

You may have "branded zones": you may virtualize older Solaris 8 or Solaris 9 based systems to new Solaris 10 branded zones or even get some Linux brand running.

By this: the hostID for Solaris 8 or 9 branded zones can be changed to the one from the "original" server to support older host based licences. As tested with Sol10 U4, changing the hostID inside a native zone is currently not supported.
