gWaei is a Japanese-English dictionary program for the GNOME desktop. It is made to be a modern drop-in replacement for Gjiten, with many of the same features. The dictionary files it uses are from Jim Breen's WWWJDIC project and are installed separately through the program. It features easy dictionary installation, support for searching using regular expressions, streaming of results so the interface is never frozen, and a simple interface that makes sense. There is a new libsexy dependency that allows spell checking in the search entry. The documentation has had a large overhaul. The help manual is a bit more complete, and the README gives better install directions. The grey highlighting was a bad idea in 0.12.0. A bug where some users could not type into the search entry was fixed. This is the first version to have PPC RPM and deb packages.
