CentOS 5.2 (CentOS-5 branch)

CentOS is an enterprise Linux distribution basedon the sources from Red Hat Enterprise Linux.CentOS conforms with Red Hat's redistributionpolicy and aims to be 100% binary compatible. EachCentOS version is supported for 7 years (by meansof security updates). A new CentOS version isreleased every 2 years and each CentOS version isregularly updated (every 6 months) to supportnewer hardware. Currently, there are 4 differentsupported CentOS releases: CentOS-5 is based onRed Hat Enterprise Linux 5, CentOS-4 is based onRHEL4, CentOS-3 is based on RHEL3, and CentOS-2 isbased on RHAS2.1.License: GNU General Public License (GPL)Changes:
Updates to desktop applications (Firefox, Thunderbird, OpenOffice, and Evolution). Better support for laptop suspend and hibernate. Graphical driver updates. Various kernel-related improvements, including desktop interactivity and reduced power consumption. Various driver updates. Virtualization updates, better clustering and application failover, and support for systems of up to 64 CPUs and 512GB of RAM.
