Sympa is a scalable and highly customizablemailing list software. It can cope with big lists(780,000 subscribers), and it comes with acomplete Web interface for both the user and theadministrator. It is internationalized. Sites cancustomize Web and mail templates, authenticationbackends, and authorization scenarios. Dynamicmailing lists can use multiple backends (LDAP,SQL, files, lists, or others). Sympa is the onlyS/MIME enabled mailing list software, and itprovides both authentication and encryption.License: GNU General Public License (GPL)Changes:
The use of HTTP session was introduced in order toreplace a lot of cookies, for better usability andsecurity. Protections have been added, includingthe support of the LDAPS protocol, along with XSSand session hijacking protection. Five newlanguages are included in the distribution, andmany more have been updated. The performance,mainly regarding the Web interface, has beensignificantly improved. A significant effort wasmade to close most reported bugs.
