sshutout 1.0.5 (Default branch)
sshutout is a daemon that periodically monitorslog files, looking for multiple failed loginattempts via the Secure Shell daemon. The daemonis meant to mitigate what are commonly known as"dictionary attacks," i.e. scripted brute forceattacks that use lists of user IDs and passwordsto effect unauthorized intrusions. The sshutoutdaemon blunts such attacks by creating firewallrules to block individual offenders from accessingthe system. These rules are created when an attacksignature is detected, and after a configurableexpiry interval has elapsed, the rules aredeleted.License: GNU General Public License (GPL)Changes:
