Toorox 02.2009 (Default branch)

Toorox is a Linux live-DVD based on Gentoo that starts as a bootable media using KNOPPIX technology. It is designed for ease of use, with a simple control center and a hard disk installer. It contains many applications and uses KDE as working environment. It is multi-lingual (German and English) and contains the unstable branch of Gentoo (~x86). License: GNU General Public License v2 Changes:
This version includes Linux 2.6.28-gentoo-r1, KDE 4.2.0, and Xorg server 1.5.3. Nearly all packages were updated. /usr/sbin/net-config was added to configure LAN and WLAN devices. NTFS write support was added via ntfs-3g. The "xmodule=" cheatcode was added. The icedtea6 Java JDK was added. Compiz was removed. kwlan was removed. The desktop-effects overlay was removed. Firefox was moved into Minefield. Booting can be done from a USB optical drive. ext2/3 inode size was fixed to interact with existing bootloaders. The correct VGA card driver is now used. The correct modes are now set in xorg.conf.
