Reading the particular line from the file

Hi,

I need a shell script that would read a specific line from a file.

i mean if I want to read 18th line from the file, it should get the 18th line.

Is there anyway we could do it.?

Thanks in advance.

There's probably a better way to do this, but, assuming $ln contains the line number you want:

head -n $ln file_name | tail -1
