Post help needed

Am using password field in my shell scripting program i have used the command stty -echo command to hide the diaplay ...
but i need to use the command which shows the password field as like " ******* "... Typing in my password field sholud show like that ******...

please help me........

It's very rare for a unix app to print * characters in place of a password in vt100 apps (like a shell script). It's generally accepted that you only need * character for gui apps where the text box currently focused isn't clear (like a dialog box).
