Problem with GREP.

I'm using this line in a script:

sudo find / -user $USER | grep -v proc | grep -v dev > /tmp/{$USER}ui
d.tmp"

.. It seems to work on AIX, but on Linux it's giving me problems. It outputs this error on linux:

find: /proc/9612/fd/4: No such file or directory

I mean, shouldn't it folders proc and dev?

Syndex,
Check to see if you have the 'USER' variable set.
Good luck.

It is. Besides, I replaced it without a variable, with a real username and it outputs the same thing, a long with the rest of it
