Shell Script not working on new RS/6000
The company i am working for has just bought two new RS/6000's.
We have copied all scripts over from our current system onto the two new boxes and we are testing them before we go live with the new boxes. We have however come up with a problem with one particular script. This script works on one box correctly but not the other. The scripts are exactly the same and the permissions have been set the same. The data the script users is exactly the same. We are wondering whether there is a setting that is different in the Operating System ( we are running AIX 5.2 ) between the two boxes that is stopping the script from working. Can anybody think of anything that would stop a Korn Shell script from working correctly. |

what exactly are the scripts supposed to do? what kind of error messages are you getting? do ALL scripts fail, or just certain ones? what version of AIX did you move from?
sorry for all the questions. i'm sure those scripts will work one way or another. anything is possible. ![]() |
