suppressing keyboard input
Setup Info:
This User Id and Password mention below are being used with the ISQL command to connect to a sybase database so they are likely to not be the same as those that were signed on from the session. Situation: Using a korn shell, the shell prompts for a User Id and Password. During the execution, I'm okay with showing the User Id... but since someone could be looking over your shoulder when running the script... I'd like to be able to suppress the keys that the user is typing as they are entering their password. So the problem is: Need to be able to suppress the keys that are being pressed when the user is prompted... like when you enter your password when logging in. Does anyone know how I could do this?
