Unhappy sftp problem

Hi,

I have a folder ABC.
I have sftp executing from this folder successfully to other servers using keys which avoids passowrd prompt.

The permissions for the folder are only for user.ie drwx------

But i need another id to access my folder and execute the scripts.
So i changed the access permissions of ABC to drwxrwx---. the other id belongs to the same group.

But now sftp fails..it prompts for password. If i change the permissions back to drwx , sftp works fine without passowrd prompt.

But i require the other id to access the scripts in my folder.

Can anyone please provide suggestions to solve the issue.

Thanks in adv

You could try using ACLs if your OS supports it.
Better tools might be rsync or rdist. rsync if you want it to be secure.

RDIST would be a better soultion to your problem.
I have done it recently & its really a very powerful tool.
