how can ý use "stat command"????..

Most versions of unix do not come with a stat command. The only exception that I know of is Linux. If you have the command available, it looks like "stat file" is all that it takes.

A version of Irix (6.5? 6.8?) that I was using a few months ago had "stat". Or it may have been added by the (relatively clued-in) sysadmins.
