Hello am24,

BINGO, finally were able to tackle problem by set -x option which gave the errors of bailing out which shows we should use nawk in place of awk. Now only issue is of space, I could see space is NOT coming only for matching lines, I am looking into it and will post you updates on same.

Instead of nawk use /usr/xpg4/bin/awk
And with the sed examples, use /usr/xpg4/bin/sed instead of sed

Note: nawk and regular sed on Solaris are pre-POSIX and do not understand POSIX character classes, like [[:blank:]] or [[:space:]], etcetera. So the XPG4 versions need to be used instead.
