Conditional Shell Statement
I want to add a conditional statement to a user's .profile file. I have a certain number of users that log in and use the rksh (Restricted Korn Shell). When they log in, it starts a certain program and when they exit this program, the system logs them out. When they are in this program, they can create files that they would like to retrieve via scp.

The last 2 line in this .profile file:
program1
exit

The program WinSCP reads the .profile and tries to start up program1 and eventually times out and exits. If there a way to detect in the .profile if the person is logging in with WinSCP or just a normal login (usally with Putty).

if [not logging in with WinSCP]; then
program1
exit
fi

Or:

if [loggin in normally]; then
program1
exit
fi

I'd try running env after logging in with different utilities and seeing what differences there are.

I got it working this morning:

if [ "$TERM" == "vt100" ]; then
program1
fi

That was one of the only variable that was the difference between the env variables when logging in the 2 different ways.
