Question sendmail and moving client behind router

I am running RedHat 9. I recently moved my windows workstations to their own subnet behind a Netgear router. The server is located in the 192.168.0.0/24 network. The Workstations are located on 192.18.1.0/24. When the workstations were located on the same LAN as the mail server no problem existed. Since I have moved them some recipients will not accept my emails. The error message that I get is: "The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was 'username@epix.net'. Subject 'test', Account: 'Username@Casazza.net', Server: 'www', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.7.1 <username@epix.net>... Relaying denied', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79"

If I connect the workstation back on the same LAN as the mail server it works again. What I find odd is I can send mail to the same recipient via a mail server at hotpop.com.

TIA,

Mark C

Look at the /etc/mail/access file - the server you moved probably isn't listed (not with the new IP) - not sure if you changed domains or what, but if it isn't listed then it will stop it due to no relaying (which is a good thing).

Question send mail problem

Dear,

in which way you r making connection between the newly moved LAN and to ur mail server.Any firewall kind of thing inbetween the mail server and the lan which is moved as u said.

if the client is in the same ip wing there will not be any restrictions in between the client and the mail server. So there will not be any problem. But if y change the ip wing of the cleints it is not the same like the previous one.

Let me know how u connected the newly changed lan with the server,..
