how do I read in a file which includes a list of workstations and then run a command for each workstation ?
I am unclear which command to use to read in , or is this not possible ?

If you do not like to do it manually you can add a chmod line in crontab

00 15 * * 0 chmod 644 /backup/backup.`date +\%Y\%m\%d`

or just do it after your command

00 10 * * 0...

fixed it, reboot was not possible so find out the "mount -F lofs..." that did bring up the FS to the zone

I added a new fs to the global zone and also did the zonecfg to add the FS to the zone but finally I do not see the new "FS" on the local zone.

If you sure you really like to do this ? It less secure andnormally just a su and you are root, but ok , try this:

vi /etc/ssh/sshd_config and set "PermitRootLogin" to "yes".

Just for information:
at the end of a zone configuration you come to
zonecfg: newzone > commit
this creates an XML config file under "/etc/zones" at that is the base for the system to remember...

Who knows if when working in the single user mode that any command are logged or could b elogged specially if I do a fsck I like at least to see when I did start it.

After i tried it on a normal shell after becoming root I tried it via the system console as real root but still get the "permission denied" so I cannot chmod 700 ....

even if I do it via the console I cannot chmod 700 nor rm root.lock...
it just says "permission denied"
