What do I need to do to the O.S. "re-read" the /etc/profile?
eg... I set some variable using this file and need this file be read again without restarting the OS.

it requested root passwd and allowed me to modify the passwd file again...

to be honest, I am just trying to learn about...

I modified the /etc/passwd from /sbin/sh to /sbin/bash

and it does not login anymore... :eek:
