It will probably give you errors. Save the errors.

But if you want to be catious, do it when it is not busy.

sync as in hacmp sync.
"accident" happens all the time such as in your case.
if sync while hacmp is active not possible, you might want to think about bring the hacmp down and then sync it.

This is a tricky one, allowing a user to delete any folders, I would also assume the user would see the files in any folders, and also allow the user to delete any files in any folders any where.......

Not sure why on your system it would do that.
On our system, the root and user post the same results:

Is there an AIX command that displays the date mode so I can see if we have universal time code on? There's a vms command to tell you this but I have not been able to find a similar AIX command.
